反共義士孫天勤上(9)月30日因為肺炎併發敗血症在三總病逝，享壽82歲。7日在台北市立第一殯儀館舉行惜別會，國防部長馮世寬親自出席弔唁，並與現場家屬致意表達哀悼。
1936年出生的孫天勤原籍陝西，在解放軍空軍擔任試飛員，1983年8月7日，他駕駛殲-7(米格-21)戰機從遼寧大連起飛，決定投奔自由，降落南韓首爾機場。途中因為拋棄油箱以減輕飛機重量，當時一度引發南韓軍方緊張，誤以為是投擲炸彈，因而施放空襲警報，在確知孫天勤是要投奔自由後，成為震驚國內外的消息。
由於當時南韓與中華民國還有邦交，韓方尊重孫天勤個人意願，把他交給台灣，飛機則交還中國大陸。孫天勤於1983年8月24日抵台，當時的參謀總長郝柏村還親自到台中清泉崗基地迎接，並由時任新聞局長宋楚瑜主持記者會。孫天勤獲政府頒發的7000兩黃金，是所有反共義士中獎金額度最高者。
曾在解放軍擔任試飛員的孫天勤是反共義士中位階最高的一位，之後還與同是從大陸投奔台灣的音樂家李天慧結婚，傳為佳話。退役後移民加拿大，近年才又重回台灣定居。
